BAE Systems introduces new version of US Marines combat vehicle
UK-based BAE Systems has released a photo of a new version of its Amphibious Combat Vehicle (ACV) equipped with a medium-sized turret.
A photo posted by BAE Systems last weekend shows the ACV-30 equipped with the RT20 light turret system and an additional armor package.
The RT20 is a compact and lightweight turret system that includes the latest in Kongsberg technology in fire control, sensing capabilities and lethality performance. The RT20 was selected as the 30mm lethality solution for the US Marine Corps’ ACV program, and has been fully equipped to allow operation in marine environments.

The 30mm cannon can effectively counter light armored vehicles, fortified bunkers, helicopters and fixed-wing aircraft.
As the company notes, the ACV represents the optimal balance between land and sea mobility, survivability, and future growth potential. The ACV platform is designed to evolve and adapt to mission needs, allowing space for new capabilities as technology evolves such as reconnaissance, electronic warfare, air defense and UAS system integration . With its modular design, the ACV is poised to provide the Marines with the flexibility to address additional mission roles and future technologies.
