Maya did not choose this life for herself. The 44-year-old beggars outside Charbagh train station outside Khamman Peer Baba Mazaar in Lucknow or the famous Hanuman Setu temple. She was left paralyzed from the waist down after a car hit her from behind while she was eight months pregnant while she slept on the footpath. But Maya had to go through the worst before a chance moment brought her to ‘Badlav’ and she was able to change her life.
