‘Baby Shark’ is the first YouTube video to reach 10 billion views

No, you still can’t escape”Baby shark. ” Billboards report Pinkfong’s catchy children’s song has become the first video to reach 10 billion views on YouTube. And no one gets to catch it anytime soon – Luis Fonsi’s “Despacito” video, surpassed by “Baby Shark” as the most popular video in November 2020, has racked up ‘just’ 7.7 billion views counted up to the time of this writing.

The familiar (if very repetitive) hook of the 2016 tune is certainly part of its success, but it has also been helped by its return to pop culture over and over again. Besides covers of celebrities like James Corden and Bebe Rexha, “Baby Shark” also had a 2019 tour, a viral dance challenge, a spot in Just Dance 2020 and a Nickelodeon TV show premiering in 2021. Simply put, Pinkfong has kept the spotlight in the spotlight, where even groundbreaking songs like “Despacito” have fizzled out.

Interest rates probably won’t fall in the immediate future. Nickelodeon not only refreshes the show “Baby Shark” but also promised a feature-length film. There’s even a NFT collection if you are determined to merge two internet trends. It can take a while before another video resumes, even with K-pop megastars regularly break ground in other fields.
