B.League: Ray Parks’ Nagoya pick up key win vs Thirdy-less San-en

MANILA, Philippines – Bobby Ray Parks Jr scored 13 points as Nagoya overcame Thirdy Ravena-less San-en, 98-78, to increase his chances of a playoff in the B.League Japan on Saturday at Toyohashi City Gymnasium.

Parks delivered three trios, collecting five assists and three rebounds to help the Diamond Dolphins hold the third seed in the Western Conference with an improved 29-13 win.

Coty Clarke led Nagoya’s balanced attack with 23 points, including five dribbles, four steals, three goals and two assists, while Scott Eatherton had 18 points and seven rebounds.

Ravena missed her sixth straight game due to health and safety regulations.

Justin Knox brought San-en with 16 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists only to have them go down at 10-41.

Meanwhile, Dwight Ramos and Toyama Grouses overcame Kyoto Hannaryz in extra time, 84-81, to finish the three-board at the Kyoto Municipal Gymnasium.

Ramos had six points, three assists and two own goals, as Julian Mavunga lifted Toyama to 25 points, nine own own and six assists. Brice Johnson dropped 17 points and 17 pounds as their team improved to 21-32.

Kiefer Ravena brought in 16 points, six rebounds, six assists and two steals but Shiga suffered a heartbreaking 97-96 defeat to Hiroshima Dragonfly at YMIT Arena.

Nick Mayo sinks the game’s winning free throw after fouling Ravena with 0.5 seconds remaining as Hiroshima improved to 25-25.

Novar Gadson took 31 points to lead the Lakestars, who slipped to 13-37.

Kobe Paras got back into action with 11 points and two rebounds just to help Niigata Albirex BB suffer an 11th consecutive defeat at the hands of the Kawasaki Brave Thunders, 96-71, at the Kawasaki Todoroki Arena.

Rosco Allen led Niigata with 20 points, 13 rebounds and six assists, dropping to a 5-40 card in their first game since April 6.

Javi Gomez de Liano was instrumental with 11 points from the bench but Ibaraki Robots (14-33) succumbed to Levanga Hokkaido, 80-68, at Hokkai Kitayell.
