Avs’ Gabriel Landeskog is on track to return for Match 1 of the knockouts

Colorado Avalanche star forward and captain Gabriel Landeskog have not played since his passing knee surgery returned on March 14, but coach Jared Bednar told reporters on Tuesday, Landeskog hopes to return “with the team here this week” as the 29-year-old works his way back to the league after the season begins next week.

Bednar gave a positive update on Thursday as, every Ryan Boulding on the NHL’s website, he confirmed Landeskog was skating on Thursday and was on track to compete in Match 1 of the knockout stages.

“Good Gabe,” Bednar commented. “Going forward step by step. Joined the team today, obviously to skate, and the plan remains for him to be ready for Game 1.”

Avalanche have secured the best record in the Western Conference standings and home advantage in the first three rounds of the season, so it is believed that Landeskog will remain a spectator in the final two competitions of the season. . Assuming so, he will enter the knockout stages having scored 30 goals and 29 assists in 51 games.

Colorado teammate Mikko Rantanen, added that “everyone is thrilled to see the captain” back on the ice.

Based on Tim Kavanagh of ESPN, Avalanche will face to face Nashville Predators in the opening round if the playoffs begin today.
