Avalanche battered the Blues in Game 3; 2-1 series lead

On Saturday night, Colorado Avalanche took a 2-1 lead over St. Louis Blues, win Game 35-2.

Avalanche recovered from a 4-1 loss in game 2, took control of game 3 in the second half and never allowed the Blues to return to the game.

The Blues scored the first when Colton Parayko scored, giving the Blues a 1-0 lead in the first half 3:55. Avalanche responded at 10:57 thanks to an equalizer from Logan O’Connor, and the two teams advanced to the first half with a score of 1-1.

Avalanched led 3-1 in the second half thanks to goals from Nazem Kadri and Artturi Lehkonen. However, the Blues took the lead 3-2 with just 30 seconds remaining after Ryan O’Reilly’s own goal.

The game remained 3-2 for most of the third period until Gabriel Landeskog, and Lehkonen scored more late in the game to seal the victory.

Colorado goalkeeper Darcy Kuemper made 29 saves from 31 shots to score the winning goal.

Blues goalkeeper Jordan Binnginton had to leave the field after a collision with Kadri early in the first half.

Binnington is 4-3 in post-seasonallows 16 targets, with 0.930 SV%.

Ville Husso was brilliant, making 19 saves from 23 shots, playing more than 51 minutes.

The second series between Avalanche and the Blues continues with Game 4 on Monday in St. Louis at 9:30 p.m. ET.
