Auto Expo 2023: Tata Altroz Racer unveiled with new features

Tata Motors introduced an iterative version of a sports hatchback with the Altroz Racer at Auto Expo 2023. Tata Altroz Racer brings aesthetic and functional upgrades to the product including styling changes. new styling and infotainment system. The Altroz Racer will compete with the Hyundai i20 N Line if it hits the market.

The Tata Altroz Racer is finished in a dual-tone red and black paint job. The bonnet, ORVM and hood are painted black with white stripes running in the middle, reminiscent of the new Tata logo introduced on the Avinya concept. The alloy wheels are also painted in gloss black to enhance the look. No design changes though.

Tata Altroz Racer is painted in two tones
The cabin sees a major update with an all-black color scheme and a new and larger 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system. The new part replaces the 8-inch one seen on the current car and looks much nicer too. There is also a new digital instrument console with a MID device, replacing the semi-digital device on the current version. The Altroz Racer also comes with ventilated front seats, a voice-activated power sunroof, wireless phone charging, and an air purifier.

The Tata Altroz Racer draws its power from a 1.2-liter turbocharged petrol engine borrowed from Nexon. The engine is tuned for a capacity of 120 horsepower and maximum torque of 170 Nm, combined with a 6-speed manual transmission. Tata hasn’t announced plans to launch a Racer version yet, but we expect the majority of the changes to make their way into the updated Altroz at a later date this year. The better equipped hatchback will also compete with the Maruti Suzuki Baleno, Toyota Glanza and similar models in the segment.
