An Australian reality show was canceled due to a thrush outbreak on set.
On Saturday, The Daily Telegraph reported that contestants on a ‘dating show’ were battling yeast infections, making romantic scenes difficult.
The thrush outbreak led to a scourge of gastroenteritis among the actors, with both conditions making filming difficult.

The Daily Telegraph reported, representatives of Channel Nine, Seven and Ten denied the information broke out on the sets of Love Island, Beauty and The Geek, Heartbreak Island or The Real Love Boat.
It’s unclear which shows have been affected by the conditions, but the newspaper claims that ‘a large number of cast and crew … have become tense when it’s shown in recent weeks’.
The report went on to claim that ‘stress is said to have flared up afterwards’ after the contestants were asked to abstain from alcohol while undergoing treatment for their illness.

Thrush is a very common infection caused when a yeast called Candida albicans, which normally lives at manageable levels in the body, overgrows inside the vagina.
Symptoms include intense itching, thick discharge, redness, and soreness.
Treatments include a selection of over-the-counter antifungal creams or medications.

The new Beauty and the Geek series, hosted by Sophie Monk, is currently airing on Channel Nine.
Love Island Australia will return later in 2022, while a release date has yet to be announced for Heartbreak Island.
Real Love Boat, hosted by Darren McMullen, has also yet to announce a broadcast date.
