Restrictions for visitors from China
Several countries have announced restrictions on visitors from China in recent days.
UK: From January 5, passengers arriving from China must test negative for COVID-19 prior to departure.
WE: From January 5, travelers from China will have to present a negative result from a test done no more than two days before departure from China, Hong Kong or Macau.
FRANCE: France will also require a negative COVID-19 test within 48 hours of departure, and from January random PCR tests will be performed on arrivals from China.
AUSTRALIA: Travelers from China to Australia will have to submit a negative test result for COVID-19 from January 5.
INDIA: India will require negative test results for people arriving from China, Hong Kong, Japan, South Korea and Thailand. Passengers from those countries will be quarantined if they show symptoms or test positive.
JAPAN: Japan now requires a negative test for COVID-19 on arrival for travelers from mainland China. Those who test positive will have to quarantine for seven days. The government will also limit requests from airlines to increase flights to China.
ITALY: Milan’s main airport, Malpensa, has begun testing passengers arriving from Beijing and Shanghai.
SOUTH KOREA: South Korea will require travelers from China to provide negative COVID test results prior to departure.
Morocco: From January 3, Morocco bans visitors from China, regardless of nationality.
SPAIN: Spain will require a negative test for COVID-19 or a full vaccination on arrival for travelers from China.
MALAYSIA: Malaysia will screen all domestic travelers for fever and test aircraft waste from China for COVID-19.
TAIWAN: All passengers on direct flights from China, as well as sailing at the two offshore islands, must now undergo PCR testing upon arrival.
CANADA: Passengers flying to Canada from China must test negative for COVID-19 no more than two days before departure.
