Somehow, it melts as fast as its twin face, Lamborghini Huracanbut it’s at the same time more buttons-down and less scary. It is also currently following the path of thylacine, and that’s sad. But before Audi takes its mid-mounted naturally aspirated supercar to the grasslands, the company will give it one last shot.
The Audi R8 Coupe V10 GT RWD 2023 will be limited to just 333 units worldwide, and when the songs of the swans come out, it’s pretty cool. The powerful naturally aspirated 5.2 liter V10 produces a very healthy 612 hp and 417 lb-ft of torque, Command through a new seven-speed dual-clutch transmission for rear wheel only.
It also has a new driving mode called “Torque Rear”, which allows drivers to choose how much of their stability control intervention should be involved. It’s like the big control knob on Mercedes-AMG GT CHEAP, just different. Crucially it would allow the brave or the stupid to get back into control of their traction without necessarily turning it off and then hurling themselves off the cliff and into the sea or something.
Other notable changes include a 44 lb reduction in weight compared to Coupe without GT RWD and a black intake manifold, so nerds in 15 years will know that you were once stylish, moderately wealthy, and had a good relationship with your local Audi dealer. The GT also comes with a standard carbon kit, which looks quite nice.
