Audi recently took the cover of new e-tron models, which will be remade as the Q8. Audi is expected to drive in the refreshed e-tron lineup to India early next year.
German auto giant Audi has confirmed that it will soon launch the new Q8 e-tron electric SUV in India. The automaker took to social media to confirm that its latest EVs are on their way to Indian markets. The new Q8 e-tron family is the same as that recently introduced by the automaker for global markets. Last week, Audi removed the skins of the Q8 e-tron, Q8 e-tron Sportback, SQ8 e-tron and SQ8 e-tron Sportback. The Q8 e-tron will replace the e-tron electric SUV previously sold by the German automaker.
The German carmaker has chosen to rebrand as part of its first major facelift since its launch in 2018. Audi revealed both the standard and Sportback versions of the Q8 e-tron. The new model is also expected to hit the Indian market soon to replace the older e-tron. When launched, it will have things like BMW car iX electric SUV as well as Mercedes EQB coming soon.
All four models feature a number of design changes from their predecessors, featuring new battery packs that enhance their range and performance. There are design tweaks with a redesigned grille. At the rear, too, the lights and LED bars running the length of the tailgate have also been redesigned. While Q8 e-tron is still basically an SUV, Q8 The e-tron Sportback resembles a coupe more with a sloping roofline.
The biggest change happened in terms of performance of things. The Q8 e-tron, which only offered a range of 484 km, will now offer up to 582 km. This is thanks to the larger battery size, which has increased from 64 kWh to 95 kWh. The Q8 e-tron SUV produces a maximum power of 300 kW and a maximum torque of 664 Nm. The Sportback version offers more range, up to 600 km. The SQ8, which also comes with the largest battery pack, delivers an incredible 370 kW and 973 Nm of torque and a range of up to 513 km on a single charge.
