Audi Q5 special edition launched: Price, exterior updates and new features



The Q5 Special Edition has a black exterior package and two new paint colors.

Audi launched a new special edition of Q5 SUV it’s Rs 67.05 lakh (factory) price. Building on existing Tech equipment, the new Special Edition Q5 features minor cosmetic updates and a special-priced accessory package. It remains mechanically unchanged from the standard SUV and will only be available in limited quantities.

Audi Q5 special edition: what’s new?

The new Q5 Special Edition has been offered in two exclusive paint colors – District Green and Ibis White – along with a black styling pack to contrast the new colors. This includes a gloss black finish for the rearview mirrors, Audi logos on the grille and tailgate, roof rails and new graphite gray finishes for the five-spoke wheels.

And while there are no updates to the interior or front-end equipment, Audi is still offering a special-priced accessory package that includes a silver-finished dashboard and ‘Audi ring’ leaves. However, Audi has not yet quoted the price for the accessory package which will be higher and higher than the factory price.

Based on Top Technology equipment, the Q5 Special Edition carries with it all the equipment that was provided on the old version. This includes a panoramic sunroof, power front seats with memory, 3-zone climate control, ambient lighting, a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system, Audi Virtual Cockpit 12, 3 inches, parking assist and 8 airbags.

The Q5 Special Edition costs Rs 84,000 more than the regular Tech version, which is a bit high for what is essentially just a minor aesthetic update.

Audi Q5 Special Edition: mechanically unchanged

Under the bonnet, Q5 Special Edition continues to be equipped with a 2.0-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder petrol engine, producing 249 horsepower and 370Nm of torque. The engine is mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission and Audi’s Quattro all-wheel drive system is standard equipment. The Q5 Special Edition also has adaptive suspension and Audi Drive Select with six modes to choose from.

Audi Q5 continues to compete with other luxury SUVs such as Mercedes-Benz GLC, BMW X3, Land Rover Discovery Sport and Volvo XC60.
