Audi A6 e-tron Avant concept previewed in new teaser image

Electric cars are still a rarity with only MG5 EV and Porsche Taycan Sport Turismo occupied the opposite ends of a deserted market, but Audi I’m thinking of setting up my stall, here’s the newest product Audi A6 e-tron Avant concept shows.

Follow up from last year A6 e-tron . concept debuted at the Shanghai Auto Show, this new official teaser image hints at a more realistic real estate version of that vehicle being launched in the form of an A6 e-tron Avant concept.

Seen from this side, we can see the Avant concept employs many of the same styling cues as the saloon, with a large diffuser at the rear combined with large grilles at the front (which will be left out for a better look). aerodynamic efficiency). Both the front and rear lights are like saloon cars. The Avant also gets a spoiler at the top of the rear hatch.

The A6 e-tron saloon will join Audi’s lineup in 2023, and the Avant could follow soon after. Audi’s new PPE Premium Platform Electric Architecture – which we’ll see first on Q6 e-tron coming soon – forms the basis of the A6 e-tron saloon car so Avant will certainly use it as well.

If it offers the same battery capacity as the A6 e-tron, the Avant will have a 100kWh battery, giving it a range of more than 400 miles – more than any purely electric Audi currently on sale. It sends power to two electric motors, one on each axle, driving all four wheels and delivering a total output of around 469bhp with 800Nm of torque.

Performance will be impressive given that Audi has previously claimed “the most powerful members of the [A6 e-tron] family will sprint from 0-62mph in less than four seconds”. The PPE platform will enable 270kW fast charging, which means the A6 e-tron Avant concept will fully charge the battery from 5% to 80% in about 25 minutes.

We have yet to see the inside of the A6 e-tron Avant concept but it is expected to use virtual mirrors with digital displays inside and Audi’s MMI infotainment system.

Saloon sales will begin in 2023, although there is no word on when or whether the A6 e-tron Avant will go into production.
