Ather opens a new facility; Annual production capacity increased by 3 lakh units



Ather currently has an annual production capacity of 4.2 lakh units.

Ather Energy has inaugurated its second production plant in Hosur, Tamil Nadu, allowing it to increase production to a announced capacity of 4.2 lakh units per year from the current 1.2 lakh units. in.

This new factory spans over 3,00,000 sq.ft. and since most of the supply facilities for Ather Energy are in Tamil Nadu and Karnataka, it is also ideally located. The new plant has two units – one dedicated to battery production and the other to vehicle assembly. The battery division will have five assembly lines and the vehicle assembly unit will have two assembly lines.

With the launch of the new Gen 3 models of the Ather 450X and 450 Plus, demand has steadily increased and this new facility will help meet that. In October 2022, 7,293 Ather e-scooters were registered under the government’s VAHAN portal.

Speaking on the new factory launch, Swapnil Jain, Co-Founder & CTO, Ather Energy said, “The rapid scaling up is prone to quality issues and delivering safe and reliable products to our customers is our biggest priority while creating a vision for the factory. .
