A Gurugram couple married their pet dog to a neighbor’s dog by following the rituals of a traditional Indian wedding.

Sheru (male dog) and Sweety (female dog) got ‘Pheras’ today. According to the pet owners, for the ceremony, 100 invitations were sent to a neighborhood of Jile Singh Colony in Palam Vihar Extension, when they attended the marriage ceremony under the name ‘Baraatis’.

Speaking to ANI, Savita alias Rani, the guardian of a bitch named Sweety, said, “I’m a pet lover and as a couple, we usually take care of pets. I don’t have children so Sweety is my child.My husband used to go to the temple and feed the cattle and one day a stray dog ​​followed him and came to us 3 years ago, we named her Sweety. that we should marry Sweety. We discussed and finally a program was done in just 4 days. We decided to follow all the rituals.”

Savita mentioned rituals like haldi was also done for both dogs, while she was on display mehendi.

Manita, the owner of the male dog Sheru, said: “We have been with Sheru for the past eight years. We have always treated her like our own. We have discussed with neighbors about her marriage. our dogs by accident but then we were suddenly serious about it.”

Manita insists that the dog’s owners are taking this marriage seriously and preparing for it like a customary marriage and following all the rituals.

“We invited about 100 people. We printed 25 cards and the rest were online invitations,” Manita added.

When asked how others reacted to the invitation, Manita said, “Some people like it and some don’t. We don’t care at all. We just do what we want.”

On similar lines, Savita mentions, “People often say that the police will arrest us and put us in jail but we don’t mind. Because we are a childless couple and this is happiness. our only so today my husband is as happy as we are getting married sweetly.”

Raja, a tea seller and owner of Sweety, was emotional during the ceremony and recounted the whole incident, “I used to visit the temple and since we don’t have children we usually take care of the animals. Sweety has been a part of our lives for the past three years and she’s like my daughter. To prepare we bought the usual wedding supplies and equipment. feel bad as a father because for three years I raised her as a guardian.”

The wedding was organized by ‘dhols’ and jump.
