At $36,000, is this updated 2002 Mercedes-Benz G 500 a deal?
If you are the type of person who likes to give a speech while walking on the street, then today Good price or no dice The Mercedes-Benz G 500 might be the car for you. Let’s see if its price tag is a contrasting deviation.
Opel was a bit of a hot potato of late. Owned for nearly a century by General Motors, the German automaker recently became part of the PSA Group and is now a subsidiary of Stellantis. In the United States, the brand may be better known for cars sold under other brands – Saturn, Cadillac and Buick – than for its own branded models such as 1972 Opel GT we reviewed yesterday. For those in the know, however, that little GT proved to be well worth knowing. And, at $7,500, it looks like its price tag too. That happened with the 94% Good Price win for the small Opel.
Of today 2002 Mercedes-Benz G 500 looks like it could have come from any point in the model’s four decades of existence. The basic design hasn’t changed much over the years, and this particular one has a proud Brabus body kit that makes it look a little more modern.
The truck comes with a clean title and 146,474 miles under its all-wheel drive. According to the ad, this Benz car has had a lot of updates and upgrades beyond the aforementioned eBay-sourced body kit. On top of that, comes LED lighting, 2-inch lifters, 22-inch aftermarket wheels and what appear to be the lowest-profile touches you can find.
Work has also been done on the interior. In it, you’ll find an aftermarket stereo system that uses only a single DIN slot, but uses the boot space at the back to produce powerful bass. The coup de grâce is upholstered in diamond tufted leather with black Alcantara accents. It’s a bit overwhelming at first but a look, anyway. Along with updated upholstery, sporty carbon fiber interior trim and the tufted rugs you’ll often find in your social media feed.
There doesn’t seem to be any mechanical changes to this truck, afrom what is described as “custom exhaust/ AMG . upgrade tube. “ So you might be able to guess that is still rocking most of the 292 horses and the 336 lb-ft of torque that the 5.0 . version-liter M113 V8 was at first established. It also implies that power is pumped through a five-speed automatic transmission and automatic wheels Driver. There is no mention of any mechanical problems in the ad. If you want to find any fault with G-SalaryN, it will probably be in the middle Its really bad 12 mpg average fuel economy. On premium.
It’s a small price to pay to be mistaken for one of the Kardashians or some other celebrity, this will be possible happens to anyone who drives this G 500 in the neighborhoods where the rich and famous are located. At $36,000, you don’t need so rich, nor famous to afford the big Benz.
The question, of course, is whether that price is a deal. And that’s a possible question, are from truck advertisement note ‘automotive value agency’ Facebook pegs a range of values for the model from $19,664 to $24,031. I’m not sure exactly how having that in the ad will help this seller. Anyway, that’s what we’re here to do.
What do you think? OLDshould this revised G salaryis n worth 36,000 dollars ask when it sits? Or, is that too much, even for a Benz far above the top?
