Asus ROG Phone 6 Pro breaks through half in the JerryRigEverything bend test, suffers the same fate as ROG Phone 5

The Asus ROG Phone 6 Pro powered by the 1st Gen Snapdragon 8+ SoC was launched in July this year alongside the Asus ROG Phone 6. The gaming-focused smartphone was recently made a YouTube channel by JerryRigEverything. Endurance test to determine its capabilities. withstand wear and tear. The durability test includes testing the scratch resistance of the screen and body as well as the screen’s ability to survive under direct heat. Just like its predecessor, the Asus ROG Phone 5, the ROG Phone 6 Pro failed to survive the bend test and broke in half.

Zack Nelson, the host of the popular YouTube channel JerryRigEverything, gave Asus ROG Phone 6 Pro passed a series of durability tests. The test includes assessing the scratch resistance of the screen, camera and body, its structural stiffness, and the screen’s resistance to flame. The video starts with the first test. The Asus ROG Phone 6 Pro has Corning Gorilla Glass Victus protection, and the rear camera island is also covered with glass, but that doesn’t seem to be enough for level six scratch resistance on the Mohs mineral hardness scale. The phone starts making deeper grooves at level seven. This is similar to last year Asus ROG Phone 5. Nelson discovered that the sides of the Asus ROG Phone 6 Pro are made of anodised aluminum with removable buttons.

In the combustion test, Nelson holds the flame of a lighter Asus The phone’s Samsung AMOLED display features Corning Gorilla Glass protection. The 6.78-inch full-HD+ (1,080×2,448 pixels) display with a 165Hz refresh rate panel lasts for about 30 seconds under a flame before the area turns black and leaves a permanent mark. Scratches on the area on the in-display fingerprint reader do not damage the fingerprint scanner and it can pick up Nelson’s fingerprints wherever he is.

In the final round, the Asus ROG Phone 6 Pro had to undergo a bend test, where its structural problems were highlighted. Neither the frame nor the glass back of this handset is strong enough to pass the bend test, and the device breaks in half when bent from the middle. The front glass doesn’t have any surface-level cracks, although the phone has proven to be unresponsive. Asus ROG Phone 5 doesn’t exist either pressure applies when Nelson tries to bend the screen. It broke in half and became unresponsive as soon as it broke from a point below the camera module.

The old Asus ROG Phone 6 Pro is launched in India in July at the price of Rs. 89,999 for the sole 18GB RAM + 512GB variant. The gaming smartphone is powered by Qualcomm’s flagship 1st Gen Snapdragon 8+ SoC, paired with up to 18GB of RAM.
