A court in Gandhinagar on Tuesday sentenced Asaram Bapu, a self-proclaimed god, convicted in a rape case filed by a former disciple in 2013, to life in prison.
The 81-year-old man is currently being held in Jodhpur prison, where he is serving a life sentence in another case of raping a girl at his ashram in Rajasthan in 2013.
Trial judge DK Soni announced the verdict after hearing arguments about the number of sentences.
