Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, in his first political rally in Assam, today criticized Himanta Biswa Sarma for his warning about a remark inside the Delhi Council, saying that public threats unsuitable statements for a Minister. He also questioned Mr Sarma’s leadership and said he had only done “dirty politics” for the past seven years. Minister Assam challenged Mr. Kejriwal to repeat his allegation that there are lawsuits against him in other states.

“I heard what Himanta Biswa Sarma said. He threatened me, saying that if he comes we will put him in jail. The people of Assam are not like that, they are very hospitable. They are not threatening. Himanta Biswa Sarma should learn about the culture and traditions of Assam,” said Party convenor Aam Aadmi.

Ahead of Mr Kejriwal’s visit to Assam for his party’s big caucus, Mr Sarma called him a coward “who is hiding behind the veil of immunity in the Delhi council and uttering blatant lies.”

“Let him say there is a pending corruption case against me outside of council premises and I will sue him the same way I did his colleague Manish Sisodia,” the ministry said. Assam chief told reporters in Guwahati.

Mr Sarma filed a defamation lawsuit in July after Manish Sisodia in a news conference allege that the Assam government had contracted out to the companies of his wife and his son’s business partners to supply the ministry. instrumentation of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) above market price during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020.

Mr Kejriwal then compared his ‘Delhi development model’ to the BJP’s management and claimed all the parties that came to power in the northeastern state were ‘deceitful’ and ‘robbers’. .

“You guys gave Congress 52 years, 10 years to Asom Gana Parish, and a BJP government has been here for the past 7 years. You voted for them, but what do you get in return from them? These parties just deceiving you. We came here today because the people of Assam told us they wanted us,” he said, adding that Delhi has progressed better when compared to Assam.

“We are doing very well in Punjab, and now if there is an opportunity in Asaam, we will do well here as well,” Mr. Kejriwal said.

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann accompanied Mr. Kejriwal on his visit, where they are expected to make a number of important announcements.
