Arcade Shoot ‘Em Up ‘Under Defeat’ is coming to Switch next month
Publisher Clear River Games and developer City Connection today announced that the arcade shooting game Defeated will fly up. On December 5.
Originally released in arcades in 2005 by G.rev, this shmup takes you to the skies to defend a world in all-out war. You’ll take command of a heavily armored helicopter and shoot down any enemies unlucky enough to get in your way with Under Defeat’s unique tilt-firing mechanic — a way to take down enemies from any angle.
This Switch release contains both the original Arcade Mode for its vertical scrolling feel and a new Order Mode for those who like things a bit more modern. There’s also ‘New Order Mode+’, a magnetically enhanced soundtrack mountainside racer And Tekken composer Shinji Hosoe, a new option for two players, and all of the game’s DLC content that was previously locked in Japan.

And yes, this will also have a physical version of the Switch. A recent Clear River game tweet has stated that “more information will be forthcoming” on the physical front, so stay tuned in the coming weeks if you’ve got your heart set on a boxed release.
