Appropriate measures put in place to deal with Chinese activities along LAC: IAF chief | India News

NEW DELHI: Air Force Sheriff VR Chaudhari on Tuesday said Indian Air Force has taken appropriate “non-escalation” measures in response to China’s activities along the Actual control line (LAC) in the east Ladakh.
Speaking at a press conference ahead of Air Force Day on October 8, he also said that recent developments at the global level show the need for a strong military to stand up to any challenge.
Air Force Chief Marshal Chaudhari said the IAF was prepared for all kinds of security challenges including “worst-case scenarios” and insisted it was fully prepared to face any eventuality.
“We continue to be operationally deployed and remain vigilant at all times,” he said, adding that the IAF continues to monitor all Chinese activities along the LAC.
When asked about the recent incident of Chinese fighter jets flying near the LAC, he said appropriate non-escalation measures had been taken and a message had been sent to the neighboring country.
Our overall preparation is a continuous process regardless of China’s belligerence, he said.
As for a question, he said the criterion for the situation to return to normal in eastern Ladakh would be to return to the status quo and complete the clearance at all points of friction.
Referring to the ambitious improvement plan, the Air Marshal said the IAF understands the duties of joint planning and execution with sister forces for future wars.
We are not against the integration of the three services; Our reservations only concern certain structures, he said.
The Air Force Chief of Staff also said the IAF is in sync with the government in terms of defense self-reliance.
