Apple Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo said in a statement blog posts on Monday that the next Apple Watch will be thinner and have a larger screen.

The Apple Watch Series 10 is expected to be released in September when the company typically introduces its next batch of wearables and new iPhone models. Kuo said the screen size on the two Apple Watch models will increase from 41 mm to 44 mm and from 45 mm to 49 mm.

Kuo added that the Apple Watch Ultra model’s specifications will remain “almost the same,” although a darker case option could be introduced if production output meets expectations.

Kuo added that the watch will include parts produced using 3D printing technology starting in the second half of this year.

While Apple has not yet mass produced devices using 3D printing technology. Company 3D tested printing to produce Apple Watch Series 9 in 2023 to reduce production time and material usage. Kuo said the testing has “significantly improved” production efficiency.

According to Kuo, Bright Laser Technologies will provide 3D printed watch parts. He said the China-based 3D printing company’s demand for shipping parts is expected to increase in the coming years due to the cost advantages of 3D printing. Kuo also mentioned the potential for using this technology in the production of Apple Watch cases.
