According to a Nikkei report on Wednesday, Apple is asking its suppliers to move some production of its AirPods and Beats headphones to India.
Luxshare Precision Industry, a Chinese supplier to the iPhone maker and its units, also plans to help Apple manufacture AirPods in India, according to the report.
However, Luxshare is currently focusing more on AirPods operations in Vietnam and will likely be slower than rivals in starting production of Apple products in India, Nikkei said.
Apple did not immediately respond to Reuters’ request for comment.
