Apple October Event 2024: M4 Macs, New iPads Expected; iPhone SE 4, Watch SE 3 will launch in 2025
Apple is said to be preparing for another event this October, following the recent launch of the iPhone 16 series. A report from 9to5mac indicates that Apple will focus on updates for its Mac line in this scheduled meeting.
Sources suggest that Apple plans to introduce new MacBook Pro models equipped with the M4 chip, a redesigned Mac mini, and an updated iMac. Other models, including the MacBook Air, Mac Studio, and Mac Pro, may appear next year. Additionally, Apple could introduce the next generation of the standard iPad alongside the new iPad mini in October.
What to expect at the event
Update Mac M4
The October event will introduce M4 series chips on Apple’s Mac products. The new MacBook Pro and 24-inch iMac are not expected to have significant design changes. However, the Mac mini is ready for a complete redesign. Reports indicate that the next-generation Mac mini will have a more compact form factor similar to the Apple TV set-top box. This new design will take up less space on the desk, although it may be taller than the current model. Furthermore, the updated Mac mini is likely to ditch the USB-A port, instead offering up to five USB-C ports.

Update iPad
In parallel with the M4 Mac, Apple could update the iPad mini and standard iPad with an enhanced chipset. The iPad mini could feature the new A18 series chip introduced with the iPhone 16 series. The 2024 model could include a landscape-facing front camera and Apple Pencil Pro compatibility. The standard iPad is expected to receive a performance upgrade with the 11th generation model, which is expected to integrate the A18 chip to support advanced Apple Intelligence features.

Future Apple launches in 2025
The transition to M4-powered Macs will likely continue next year, with the MacBook Air expected to launch in March. Updates to Mac Studio and Mac Pro are coming in end of this year.
iPhone SE 4 and Apple Watch SE
The reports also highlight plans for a significant redesign of the next iPhone SE model. This upcoming affordable iPhone is expected to feature an edge-to-edge OLED display, ditch the traditional home button, and use a chassis inspired by the iPhone 14. The iPhone SE may also include the A18 chip, Supports Apple Intelligence for enhanced functionality.
