What does Apple WWDC mean?
WWDC means Apple Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC). This is an annual meeting for developers to interact with Apple engineers. Scheduled to take place from June 10 to 14, 2024, this year’s event will be streamed online, with some present in person on keynote day, June 10.
What to expect from Apple WWDC 2024?
Apple is expected to launch Apple Intelligence, a revolutionary AI system for iPhone, iPad, and Mac, according to a Bloomberg report. Apple Intelligence will deploy beta AI capabilities across Apple platforms and apps, including access to ChatGPT-like chatbots powered by OpenAI. The focus will be on practical features like AI-powered summaries, reply suggestions, and strengthening Siri’s capabilities.

This overhaul is aimed at empowerment Siri with more app control and serving apps that have broad appeal to users. Significant improvements are expected for Siri, positioning it to better compete with Google Assistant and Alexa.
To access Apple Intelligence, users will require devices powered by the M1 chip or newer for iPad and Mac. For iPhones, requests may be limited to the iPhone 15 Pro and the upcoming iPhone 16 series. Importantly, these AI functions will be optional, allowing users to opt-in.
Besides the AI announcements, Apple is also ready to introduce many updates at WWDC 2024, starting June 10. Reports suggest that Apple will improve the “Settings” app for iOS and macOS, Aims for a cleaner interface, improved organization, and enhanced search functionality. This change extends to the macOS System Settings app.
iOS Control Center will get notable upgrades, including a new music widget and enhanced smart home device control. The Messages app is expected to get new features, allowing users to animate individual words in their texts and introducing new Tapback icons for responses.
