According to some recent job postings on Respawn Entertainment’s career websiteA new single-player FPS set in the Apex Legends universe in early development. Eurogamer asked if this could be the long-awaited Titanfall 3 in disguise, but that remains to be seen as the articles don’t mention anything about the wall war FPS, mech.
Called the “Apex Universe FPS Incubation Title,” a post by Senior Environmental Artist says:
“This new single-player title is a developer’s dream playground with the freedom to innovate made possible by the only universe it inhabits. Cross-platform, critically-acclaimed games from we have traditionally established the feeling of “fun comes first” created with the concept that great ideas can come from anyone, this allows creativity to shine and individuals to have can shape the game in meaningful ways.”
Single-player FPS is often not announced, especially since the genre is synonymous with competitive play. The story-centric Apex Legends experience can focus on any number of eccentric personalities of the frontiersmen. It can even dig into Blisk’s infamous Apex Predator detachment. In any case, the upcoming shooter will be in good company, as its predecessor is still The best battle royale right now.
