Apex Legends Season 15 features the first transgender hero Catalyst
Respawn has revealed the next legend to come in their free to play battle royale Apex Legends will be the game’s first transgender hero, Catalyst. The latest installment is called Eclipse and brings a new map of the Split Moon. The update also introduces Apex Legends gifting and will feature a brand new battle. Learn more about Catalyst’s backstory by checking out the trailer below.
Catalyst is a transgender woman and voiceover by transgender actor Meli Grant. Also known as Tressa Smith, Catalyst is an “experienced terrain and defense combo” battling a substance called ferrofluid. Respawn says the ferrofluid can “manipulate the battlefield”, though it’s still unclear how. Coming to Season 15 with Catalyst comes a new map, Partition Moon, leaked earlier this year alongside Catalyst and a host of eight other unannounced heroes. You can read a little more about Catalyst and what’s set for Apex Legends Season 15 here.
Season 15 features a refreshed pass-through with new daily and weekly challenges, but it also introduces Apex Legends giveaways. Gifts allow you to use Apex Coins to buy things like legends and weapon skins for your friends, and it’s crossplatform. There is a limit of five gifts per day and just remember that they are non-refundable. You can read how the giveaway works here.
Today is the start of the third week of Apex Legends’ Fight Or Fright event.
