Via Jack Tien Nam: Anthony Yarde predicts that IBF, WBC & WBO light heavyweight champion Artur Beterbiev won’t be able to take the “hit” he placed this Saturday night when he’s in range to start taking the big hits. at the OVO Arena in London.
Yarde (23-2, 22 KOs) was fearless in the face of what many boxing fans feel is the most dangerous fighter at 175 lb in Beterbiev (18-0, 18 KOs).
Beterbiev looked as dangerous as ever, knocking out WBO champion Joe Smith Jr in two rounds last August in New York.
“Absolutely not,” said Anthony Yarde iFL TV when asked if he would be disqualified against IBF/WBC/WBO lightweight champion Artur Beterbiev on Saturday.
“All this talk doesn’t win; it doesn’t change the result. I’m very excited about this fight.
“I feel it’s not fitness or fitness. It’s hydration. That is part of the experience. As I told you, the whole experience in Russia is very different,” Yarde said of why he lost to former 175 lb WBO champion Sergey Kovalev on August 24, 2019, at Traktor Sport Palace, Chelyabinsk, Russia .
“I am a realist. The only way you know how something will turn out is when it turns out that way,” Yarde said of whether Beterbiev could have been hurt. “You can watch someone five million times, and then when it comes down to it, you’ll ask, ‘What is that about?’ That’s why I don’t watch my opponents. I leave that to my team.
“Stylistically, you can watch a few rounds, but when you get in there, the style in front of you is different,” Yarde said of not wanting to watch Beterbiev’s previous games. “That’s why with my approach you get in the ring and shape up; then you know what time it is.
“He has punch power, and I have punch power. I’ve had more fights and I’ve completed more fights in a short amount of time. What I see about him, he’s the kind of guy that always puts pressure on, but when I land, it’s going to be interesting.
“100% and I said this earlier as well,” Yarde said of his approach to the Beterbiev match the same way he did when he faced Lyndon Arthur for the second time that he said, “He couldn’t. stop raining.”
“When I started attacking people, there was no one in this world that is going to take it. We’re all human, and if I get in range and I hit you often, the fight won’t last too long. I know it for a fact.
“And the NEW one,” Yarde said, predicting that he would dethrone Beterbiev on Saturday.
