Anthony Joshua will fight in early 2023 says Eddie Hearn

Via Barry Holbrook: Anthony Joshua will return to the ring “early next year,” rather than December, promoter Eddie Hearn said.

Joshua (24-3, 22 KOs) had previously planned to fight in December, but after his fight with Tyson Fury failed, plans changed. Hearn says he wishes Joshua had more time to work with his coaching team.

He looked more improved with his first game against new coach Robert Garcia last August in a decisive round 12 loss to Oleksandr Usyk in their rematch.

If Joshua can continue to progress under Garcia’s guidance, he could be perfectly positioned to beat Fury next year. Hearn wants Joshua to pick up the pace in early 2023, then face off against Dillian Whyte and then possibly Deontay Wilder.

“For me, after the defeat, I still want to see him work with his new team, regain his confidence, be positive again, but at the same time, I want to see him in the biggest games. ,” said Eddie Hearn to Against TV Hub about Anthony Joshua.

“Joshua will be back very soon next year. I want to see him active.”

“We were told we had run out of time. People will go backwards and forwards,” said Hearn BetOnline_ag When asked why Joshua vs. Tyson Fury does not take place.

“Forget what was said behind closed doors because you will never know the answer to that, the public. Just watch what you know, that Tyson Fury set two deadlines for Anthony Joshua and said, ‘If you don’t sign this fight today, the fight will be over.’

“First thing, I convinced AJ to let us continue, and Fury agreed to continue. Then, in a few days, he did it again. Finally, when you’re calling someone so openly, what do you think?

“One thing you need to know is that people are starting to see through some of the Tyson Fury bulls. No matter how smart you are, digest this. He gave us a deadline because he said he needed to know who he was fighting for December 3.

“Almost four weeks later, he signed Derek Chisora. So why don’t we allow that time to negotiate the biggest fight in boxing? I think he ran Joshua the wrong way, calling him, ‘You’re like a home; you missed the deadline. You have no chance now. ‘

“Eventually, a guy like AJ will turn around and say, ‘Look, don’t waste my time,’” Hearn said.
