Anthony Joshua has adopted an intense mindset and is ready to shock the world after returning to training in preparation for his proposed fight with Tyson Fury, said fitness teammate Richard Riakporhe.

It was announced on Tuesday that Joshua and his team had accepted all the terms offered by Fury following the all-England blockbuster on December 3.

Joshua has wasted no time getting back into the gym since losing to Oleksandr Usyk by splitting in their August 20 rematch as he looks to re-establish himself among the division’s belt-holders .

“It hasn’t been long (since the Usyk fight) but I feel like you just need a couple of days off, I don’t want to be away from the gym for too long,” world weight champion contender Riakporhe told Sky. Sports.

“I feel like he got a bit of a break between the first Usyk game and the second game anyway, so he knew what he needed to do to improve and they put in place a system.

“If they continue to follow that system he will eventually be very successful because he has seen improvements from the first Usyk fight and the second one.

“In the end he will go away with a big win and it will shock the world in my opinion.”

Riakporhe was pictured with Joshua on Wednesday during a session he wished could be witnessed by fans such was the ferocity with which the pair approached it.

Riakporhe added: “In the gym he is in very good spirits and there is a different focus, an intense look in his eyes these days. “He seemed really, really hungry and I’m amazed to see what this man has achieved so far.

“For him to come back to the gym like a week, two weeks after the game and be ready to come back and accept another tough fight, it shows who he is and what kind of fabric he is. Where did it come from?

“We fought some heavy and heavy rounds, I promise you the public will pay to see this. It’s all flaming guns, no one is holding back, and it’s a lot of fun. It really tough, this guy can hit really hard and he’s just in that mold.

The pair are scheduled to meet in August 2021 before a referee rules that Deontay Wilder is entitled to a third fight against Fury.
