Former Deutsche Bank CEO Anshu Jain dies aged 59 after battling cancer

New Delhi:

Anshu Jain, the former CEO of Deutsche Bank, died on Saturday after a five-year battle with cancer. He is 59 years old. In a statement, the bank said Jain played a key role in Deutsche Bank’s growth and was instrumental in building the company’s global capital markets business.

He was appointed to the Board of Directors of Deutsche Bank in 2009 and was responsible for Corporate and Investment Banking from 2010. From 2012 to 2015, he was the Managing Director.

“Anshu Jain played a key role in expanding Deutsche Bank’s position in our global business with corporate and institutional investors. Today this is of strategic importance. not only for Deutsche Bank but also for Europe as a financial center,” said Alexander Wynaendts, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Deutsche Bank.

Christian Sewing, CEO, recalls, “Anyone who has worked with Anshu has experienced a passionate leader with a brilliant mind. His drive and loyalty to the bank has been a testament to his vision. left a great impression on many of us. His mother. We will honor his memory.”

Jain’s contribution to Deutsche Bank and the industry has been recognized with numerous awards worldwide.

The TERI Technical College in Delhi awarded him an honorary doctorate and the London Business School made him an Honorary Researcher.

Besides his contributions to the bank, he also supports animal welfare projects in India and South Africa.
