Via Sam Volz: Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk are running out of time to announce their April 29 bout at Wembley Stadium in London.
According to Gareth A. Davies, their undisputed heavyweight championship end date is April 1, which is about to end to push the fight to where it will sell pay-per-view and fill filled the huge Wembley Stadium with more than 90,000 seats.
Davies believes the Fury-Usyk fight will be announced next week to draw attention away from Eddie Hearn’s fight between Anthony Joshua and Jermaine Franklin.
“Well, except for Frank Warren tweeting ‘Big news to watch’ and no behind-the-scenes news, which means they’ve all gone silent, which shows the fact that they’re finally making it through. this war,” Gareth told A. Davies to iFL TV about the fight between Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk.
“All the behind-the-scenes sounds are that it’s getting very close to completion. That is, both men have signed, and we will receive an official notice of ticket sell.
“There are pictures of SugarHill Steward in Tyson Fury’s training camp. The signs are good. It would be an absolute disaster at this stage if it didn’t proceed. I heard that April 1st is the absolute threshold,Davies talks about the battle between Fury and Usyk.
“I imagine tickets will go on sale before then. I’m not officially announcing here, but all indications and facts that Bob Arum and Alex Krassyuk have been silenced. He had that week where he took it out there.
“That’s good news, isn’t it? I spoke to Fraser Clarke last week, and he said, ‘If these boys can’t go on, what hope is there for any fight?’ He is right in many ways.
“UFC’s Dana White said, ‘This happens all too often in boxing.’ He couldn’t believe it wasn’t signed. We have an announcement.
“I still don’t know if there will be a press conference this week. Maybe they do it next week to try to piss off Eddie Hearn and Anthony Joshua in the match against Jermaine Franklin only to say, ‘We’ll do this another day.’ I wouldn’t be surprised if the press conference was next week,” Davies said of the Fury vs. Usik.
