The fashion world has lost a giant. Legendary Vogue Editor and industry icon André Leon Talley has died aged 73. Theo Everyone, Talley was hospitalized for an unknown illness and died on January 18.
Talley’s career in fashion spans six decades, most notably as news director, then as creative director and editor-in-chief. Vogue. During his tenure, he helped shape the direction of the magazine in the ’80s and ’90s, while championing diversity and representation on the runways. He worked closely with Anna Wintour and continues to contribute to Vogue in various capacities, including after his departure in 2013. Talley has left an indelible mark on the industry with a solid career and a larger-than-life personality.
