Anavila will present its latest collection ‘Dabu’ at an exclusive showcase at Raintree in Bengaluru on March 25. The shopping exhibition will showcase the designs in the city after they were recently showcased. on the runway at Lakme Fashion Week Cooperation with Fashion Design Council of India in Mumbai.
Anavila writes of the collection on Facebook: “This collection is essentially a six-foot sari and how it can be adjusted to volume. “Sometimes set free, sometimes restrained, it stirs the imagination of the wearer and her connection to the 5,000-year-old veil. The artistry lies in the twisting, knotting and layering of the curtains giving each a unique shape and silhouette.”
The collection features sarees in a variety of colors ranging from lemon yellow to indigo, and also includes several off-white options with simple floral designs. The collection celebrates the Indian art of weaving, for which the brand has become known.
The brand also launched a campaign for the collection with creative direction and photography by Pranoy Sarkar. By playing with shadows and rich colors, Sarkar evokes an atmosphere of contemplation and accentuates the veils of sarees.
Anavila Mishra launched its eponymous brand in 2012 and it has become known for its linen and handwoven sarees. Anavila retails from dedicated e-commerce store, flagship store in Mumbai, studio in Gurugram and multi-brand retailers across India and online.
