Analyst: Broncos tied for playoff with Russell Wilson

Broncos fullback Russell Wilson, entering his 11th season, has never received a vote for the NFL MVP. FOX Sports and NFL Network analyst Peter Schrager expects that to change. In fact, he choose Wilson to win prizes.

“I’ll go with Russell Wilson, and I’ll give you two words, ‘Let’s Ride,’ Schrager said Wednesday on “Good Morning Football.” “The Broncos got their guy, and they’re going back to the knockout stages because of this guy.”

Schrager said the Broncos are using blueprints from two past Super Bowl champions. The Rams and Buccaneers have traded in for veteran midfielders (Tom Brady and Matthew Stafford), hoping they can turn their young, talented brands into a champion. In both cases it worked.

It’s unclear if Wilson possesses the same feeling, but he has the weapons to possibly have a breakout season. Wide receivers Courtland Sutton and Jerry Jeudy worked closely with Wilson this summer, perfecting their skills.

Schrager also finished high in his second year of re-running Javonte Williams, who he calls his No. 1 breakout contender for 2022.

“He will lead the league in a hurry,” Schrager said recently.

Wilson still sharp into the opener against his former team, the Seahawks. Based on Brady Henderson of ESPN, QB overcame a right hand injury and led the NFL in total QBR in the final two games of the 2021 season.

In 2020, Wilson had the second most touchdowns in NFL (40), tie Brady. However, he gets zero MVP votein part, because a late-season slump allowed Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers to overtake him.
