the My Nintendo Pretty good loyalty program, right? If you go to reward section of the service right now, you’ll find a bunch of fun gifts to claim if you own the required number of coins. These include one Nintendo Switch Online Calendar 2025one set Super Mario Bros. embossed art print. One Mario vs Donkey Kong smartphone ringand one Mario & Luigi: Brotherly Love Pin Set. That’s… good, right?

Yes, it’s good, but it’s not great. And by the way, if you’ve been a Nintendo fan for a while then you’ll know that My Nintendo’s predecessor, Nintendo Clubfrequent Great. Operating from 2002 (depending on region) until 2015, Club Nintendo delivered some of the most unique, incredible products imaginable. A yellow color Twilight Princess statue, SNES controller for Wii, Year of Luigi coin, multiple CD tracks… It truly feels like the sky is the limit for Club Nintendo and we’re sad that My Nintendo will probably never now matches its excellence.

However, instead of just sitting around and whining about it, we decided to check it out An unconfirmed collection by Club Nintendo from Oscar Bown, revealed via Kickstarter in August 2024 and is available exclusively through eBay store. At 400 pages on premium 170gsm archival paper, this is certainly the last word on Club Nintendo rewards, containing high-quality images of every product offered to members since its inception in 2002 until closing in 2015.

Now, we have been sent limited edition (£44) of the book, but you can also choose one standard copy for £33. Forking out extra will net you not only the hardback book but also a 2025 calendar (complete with key game anniversaries each month), three custom postcards and a The gold coin pin is quite lovely.

Looking at some of the bog standard art books you can buy for the same price, Club Nintendo’s Completely Uncensored Anthology scream luxurious. It’s a thick, heavy book with surprisingly high-quality pages, a classy, minimalist design, and there’s not a hint of poor image quality to the product itself. Everything from the ‘Club Nintendo GameCube pad’ to the final ‘Club Nintendo 2016 Calendar’ is presented meticulously and with exceptional care.

Don’t we wish the book had a few more exclusive photos of Bown’s products? Surely, a part of us does too. But then we have to remind ourselves of the purpose of the book and that is simply to preserve each reward from Club Nintendo in the simplest way possible.

In that sense, it was a resounding success. Each reward is given its own page in the book (with a few benefiting from a full two-page spread), and Bown even goes so far as to include an area where each reward can be obtained alongside Asking price in coins. (a whopping 15,000 for the aforementioned Zelda statue).

Honestly, this is a remarkable book for Nintendo fans. Considering Club Nintendo has been dead for nearly a decade now, having a complete catalog of every loyalty program reward in 2024 is an almost priceless perk.

Not to mention the additional gifts included in the limited edition. The 2025 calendar is certainly basic in some ways — there’s nowhere for important notes or reminders, for example — but to have something so simple that sits in the corner of your office desk, it’s real. quite lovely. The three postcards feature illustrations of the original DS ‘phat’, the 2DS and the GBA Micro, and the soft-touch quality of the cards themselves is second to none. Finally, the gold coin pin is about 3cm in diameter, making it a rather chunky little object; Perfect for pinning to your favorite winter coat or travel bag.

If you, like us, sorely miss Club Nintendo, Oscar Bown’s hardcover collection of its many offerings, much reward is the perfect way to pay tribute to a bygone era in Nintendo’s long history. Scrolling through and finding any rewards you may have won yourself in the past is fun enough, but having a complete look at every reward from every region across thirteen years is a a great reminder of Nintendo’s unique flair for the weird and cool products we aspire to own.
