It took almost 15 years, but Disney is finally gearing up to release a sequel to the animated/live-action hit Enchanted (2007).
And on Friday, Disney released an official trailer for the appropriately titled film Disenchanted, which stars original stars Amy Adams, Patrick Dempsey, Idina Menzel and James Marsden.
New additions include the likes of Maya Rudolph, Gabriella Baldacchino, Yvette Nicole Brown and Jayma May.

Fifteen years after happily ever after, Giselle (Adams), husband Robert (Dempsey) and daughter Morgan (Baldacchino) move into a new home in the suburbs of Monroeville.
“I know change can be scary but it can also be exciting,” Gisele says at the beginning of the trailer, and Robert replies, “If I learn anything from meeting the princess on the billboard… then sometimes you just need to take a leap. ‘
Inspired by her wise words, Gisele happily returns, ‘Let’s start our new life’ above a picture of the family driving to their new neighborhood.
She added as the pair shared reassuringly bright smiles.

Not a fairy tale home: When the couple arrive, they find their new abode a far cry from what they expected; one she describes as an ‘overhead fixer’
While hoping their new home and life will soon feel at home, they arrive to find a place that takes a far different shape than expected; one she describes as ‘an upper fixer.’
However, it turns out that their new community is overseen by Malvina Monroe, who has nefarious intentions towards the family.
As problems begin to arise, Giselle wishes that their life was a perfect fairy tale, but the spell eventually backfired.
“I wished for a fairy-tale life and it was all horribly wrong – or horribly right,” announced Giselle, while accompanying her stepdaughter, in an attempt to save her family and her homeland Kingdom of Andalasia before the clock strikes midnight.

The original Enchanted follows the story of Giselle, the soon-to-be animator princess from Andalasia, who is transported to the real-life world of New York City, where she meets and falls in love with attorney Robert Philip (Dempsey).
Written by Bill Kelly and directed by Kevin Lima, the film went on to become a huge hit, grossing $340.5 million on a budget of $85 million.
The sequel has Adam Shankman sitting in the director’s chair working on a script by Brigitte Hales.

“It was really exciting to work with people again after 14 years,” Dempsey said Diversity in April 2021. ‘We need some escapism right now. We needed those romantic comedies and musicals to get people out of the doom we were in. ‘
During the interview, Dempsey confessed that he actually sang in the movie for the first time.
‘I’ve never sung publicly – there’s a reason. So bear with me,’ the 56-year-old actor said of his singing debut. ‘I hope the fans embrace it. But they set me up for success and the lyrics are really funny. The numbers have really great choreography. And the premise will be interesting. ‘
Disenchanted premieres exclusively on Disney+ on Thursday, November 24.
