The Presidents Cup is officially back after a three-year hiatus, and the US team is the title contender to win the highly anticipated event.
The men of Davis Love III are now on the list of -700 incredible favorites at DraftKings to win the four-day event against Trevor Immelman’s International team.
The big difference between the teams this year is number of top ranked golfers in the world on each team. Team USA boasts nine players in the top 15 including World No. 1 and PGA Player of the Year Scottie Scheffler. The highest ranking member of Team Internationals is Hideki Matsuyama, who is ranked 16th in the world. The large disparity is partly due to the number of international golfers from previous Presidents Cups who are no longer eligible because they have participated in LIV Golf.
However, Team Internationals certainly has no shortage of experience. Adam Scott is the most seasoned golfer in the field with 10 Pres President Cup appearances under him, of which Matsuyama played in game 4.
The US side boasts several new faces at this year’s event, including rookies Cameron Young and Sam Burns, making Jordan Spieth and Justin Thomas seasoned veterans.
The festival for the President’s Cup at the Quail Hollow Club in Charlotte, North Carolina will begin on Tuesday.
