American Eagle Outfitters debuts in metaverse with Roblox

US-based clothing and accessories retailer American Eagle Outfitters has kicked off its Spring ’22 Member Always campaign, an invitation into an optimistic, youth-led world where all everyone is welcome. Debuting with Roblox, American Eagle (AE) will usher in a reverse adaptation of the campaign on Livetopia, a top 10 role-playing game on the platform that has garnered over 1.5 billion hits.

Building on AE’s leadership in social, commerce, and gaming, the campaign expands to places where Metaverse meets reality. Always members will have extensions on Roblox, Snapchat and TikTok, where the AE community can experience, shop and play games, the company said in a media release.

Livetopia players can explore the club while collecting exclusive game items, including styles from the AE Spring collection to outfit their branded avatars.

AE is enhancing its presence on Snapchat through new augmented reality (AR) enhancements and Marker Technology that unifies the physical and digital worlds. Snapchatters can use the new AE Lens to play an interactive AR tennis match, where they earn points for targeting Spring collection goals and buying collections.

Titles for the campaign’s images and videos are tennis player, Coco Gauff, actor and musician Joshua Bassett, actors Madelyn Cline, Maitreyi Ramakrishnan and Michael Evans Behling, and multi-hyphen mxmtoon.

The Spring ’22 campaign taps into classic nostalgia, prepares vibes, and finds everyone. The new collection features denim-fit pieces including flared, low-rise + baggy, shorts, sporty and tight-fit jeans and more.
