Amber Portwood, 32, don’t back down. The Young mother OG the star posted a vulnerable statement on social media on Thursday, revealing her most personal feelings after lose custody of children of her 4-year-old son Jack on Wednesday, July 27, with her ex-boyfriend and Jack’s father, Andrew Glennon. “I am devastated and heartbroken by this outcome,” the MTV star wrote on Instagram on July 28. “I have worked so hard to better myself and improve my relationship with my children. . While I have always been upfront about my past substance abuse and mental health issues, a person should be given a chance to atone and not attached to their problems past.” Amber continued, after referring to her past struggles, insisting that she should be allowed to move on from the past.
“Those who have done therapy, attended classes, and attempted change will no longer be punished for past mistakes. I spent years rebuilding my bridges and did everything I asked, including completing 21 negative drug tests and multiple psychological assessments.” Amber’s statement then directed at heartbreak, opening up to her most personal thoughts on the court’s loss.
“If your path was not perfectbut you worked hard to become a better, more stable and more caring person today, keep moving forward like me [sic] and never stop fighting for my children who I love more than anything,” she concluded the statement. “I’ve lived in a nightmare for too long, trying to prove myself. I would not wish this unbearable pain to any mother or father. “
The loss of guardianship came after Amber was arrested for a family incident in 2019. She then issue a ban in 2021 to help Andrew not “interfere with parenting time”. The current order gives him the opportunity to move Jack to Malibu, California, from Indiana. It also transfers their child’s sole physical and legal custody to Andrew.
Amber’s fans flooded the comments section with words of support. One of her 1.7 million followers wrote: “I’m so sorry you’re going through this. “You have come a long way and should be proud.
