Valve has once again released some details on the top earning games of the year above Sauna. The sixth annual Top Sellers List divides the top 100 games into several categories, and the titles within each game are randomly sorted. The 12 games in Platinum tier earn the most money.
There are some free games at the top, as Steam has taken into account microtransactions and paid expansions. The Platinum tier is dominated by old favorites, including Apex Legends, PUBG: Battlegrounds, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, Dead by daylight, Fate 2, Rainbow Six Siege, Dota 2 and Grand Theft Auto DRAW.
This is the sixth year in a row Dota 2, CS: GO and Grand Theft Auto DRAW made it the top level. PUBG: Battlegrounds and Rainbow Six Siege each cut for the fifth time. Fate 2, Meanwhile, has been ranked Platinum every year since it press Steam in 2019.
Battle Royale title Naraka: Bladepoint and Battlefield 2042 are among four releases from this year that have made it into the top 12. Valheim, a survival sandbox game made by only 5 people, also one of the highest earning games, New world, showing that after many years try and failure, Amazon finally created a hit game.
Newcomers in the second group of 12 games, Gold, are FIFA 22, Back to 4 health, Forza Horizon 5 and It takes two, the game won the title of game of the year at The Game Awards. The older titles in that section are Final Fantasy XIV Online (which Square Enix has Temporarily stop selling due to server overload), Red Dead Redemption 2, Rust, Sea of Thieves, Warframe, Scrolls online, War Thunder and Forza Horizon 4.
Meanwhile, the Silver section covers 2021 releases like Halo Infinite, Outriders, Resident Evil Village and Legendary version of Mass Effect. Cyberpunk 2077, which was released last December, is in that category, as well as The Sims 4, Monster Hunter: World and Being annoyed Fortress Team 2.
Some of the key lessons include the fact that EAs, bring my games back to Steam in 2019, there were four titles among the top 24 earners, including three new releases: Apex Legends, Battlefield 2042, FIFA 22 and It takes two. Microsoft also has a number of games on some of the top levels, although they are all available on PC Game Pass. Forza Horizon 5, its predecessor and Sea of Thieves are in the Gold category. Halo Infinite turned it into Silver though Multiplayer is free to play, and the paid campaign was only a week old before Steam stopped tracking earnings for listings.
Many of these games – including New World, Battlefield 2042, Mass Effect: Legendary Edition and Sea of Thieves – has been discounted for Winter Steam Sale. Cyberpunk 2077, Valheim and Back to 4 health also included in the sale, which runs until January 5.
