Allison Langdon fell asleep on camera today 14 HOURS broadcast from Buckingham Palace

Today’s host Allison Langdon certainly took the time while covering the funeral of the late Queen Elizabeth II.

The 43-year-old nodded on set during a pause in coverage of the Queen’s funeral on Monday, after broadcasting for 14 hours from Buckingham Palace.

Tired, she rolled up a jacket to make a pillow as she took a nap on the lap of Will Hutchinson, the Today senior producer, who snapped a photo for Instagram.

Allison retweeted the photo on her own Instagram Stories on Tuesday, along with the caption: ‘Hours 14. Everything is fine.’

It came as her co-host Karl Stefanovic couldn’t resist stroking his least favorite member of the Royal Family after the Queen’s funeral.

He made the baseless suggestion that Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, wasn’t actually crying when she was photographed wiping her tears during the darkened ceremony.

Karl, 48, has articulated his verdict on Meghan’s public display of emotion in just one word – ‘apparently’ – and it has gone unnoticed by his colleague Allison.

The moment happened as Karl and Allison were speaking to royal photographer Chris Jackson outside Buckingham Palace at around 9:20pm local time, or 6:20am on Tuesday in eastern Australia.

Karl noted that some of the photos from the funeral were open to interpretation, especially about whether some members of the Royal Family were crying.

He hinted that the photos of Meghan wiping her tears were perhaps misleading.

‘There are a lot of pictures around and how to interpret photos and read into pictures [meanings] that may or may not be true,’ he said.

‘There’s a couple of Meghan, um, with a tear running down her face – obviously – and even one of Princess Charlotte that everyone says she’s crying, and we don’t know. Is that correct or not. “

When Karl cast doubt on Meghan’s tearful performance with the word ‘seems’, Allison smiled nervously then gave him a knowing look.

Meghan cried as she watched Queen Elizabeth II’s coffin being removed from Westminster Abbey in London on Monday following a remarkable funeral attended by great and good people from around the world .

The Duchess of Sussex, 41, rubbed her cheeks in the emotional moment as she stood alongside Camilla, Queen Consort, Catherine, Princess of Wales, and her children Prince George and Princess Charlotte.
