Alliance Fleet appoints Salary Sacrifice Manager as popularity spike in UK – Global Fleet

  -

Fleet Management Specialist Fleet Alliance appointed Mark Roberts to the newly created salary-sacrifice product manager position.

Roberts is the customer relationship manager at Zenith in terms of salary and company sacrifice sales. Roberts will focus its efforts on the SME sector that Fleet Alliance believes is currently underserved.

Current tax regulations in the UK favor electric cars, which makes them very popular as both company cars and wage-sacrificing cars.

Under salary sacrifice, a portion of an employee’s gross monthly salary is sacrificed for a fully serviced rental car. The employee still pays the company auto tax – currently just 1% of the car’s list price – but the tax savings on the sacrifice made make it a tax-efficient method of buying a car.

“Our main focus will be on the SME sector, where many of the larger rental providers are reluctant to enter. We will give customers the tools to research and get a quote for electric vehicles, with an increasingly wide selection of manufacturers. As an all-inclusive package, once you’ve chosen your car, you just charge it and go”.

Sacrificing wages as a method of financing corporate vehicles is becoming increasingly popular thanks to the tax savings achieved for both employers and employees. It also provides a useful employee recruitment and retention tool, as it can be made available to all employees.

Andy Bruce, chief executive officer of Fleet Alliance, welcoming Mark Roberts to the business, said:

“We see Mark’s appointment as pivotal to our growth plan for a paycheck sacrifice solution, which we believe is perfectly positioned to take advantage of an extremely favorable tax environment. for electric cars. We’ve seen a large number of requests from businesses that aren’t currently customers wanting more information about salary sacrifices and the opportunities that exist. They may still operate company cars but would like help in making electric vehicles available to a wider range of employees.

“This is at the heart of our core competencies and will be extremely important to us and our growth ambitions going forward.”

Volkswagen Group products begin to dominate the salary sacrifice rankings

The expansion of electric vehicle production by Volkswagen Group companies is also helping to drive the attraction of salary sacrifice funding.

A recent report from Fleet Evolution, an expert on salary sacrifices and fleet management, confirms that their orders are up 150% from a record year of wage sacrifices.

It says that Volkswagen Group vehicles are starting to dominate the pay-scorer’s pick list. The Audi Q4 e-tron has knocked the Tesla Model 3 off the top spot.

Chief Executive Officer Andrew Leech commented: “What is becoming increasingly apparent is the dominance of the Volkswagen Group over our electric vehicle order bank, with a growing range of new models appearing in the market. than. “Once, Tesla was the only game in town. But our customers are now faced with a wider choice of models, many of which are from mainstream manufacturers and are very competitively priced.”

Leech says that VW Group products occupy six of the top 10 spots in its order bank.
