David Probert, Michael Appleby, George Rooke and Godolphin all won divisional titles on All-Weather Championship Day at Lingfield. Probert earned his first all-weather Jockey title with 82 wins.
Probert said, “I have always had the goal of winning the championship since I won the championship in 2008 when I was a champion student. It’s a huge achievement and I have a lot of people to thank for that, and hopefully it turns out to be a good season. ”
Appleby, who won the title of coach for the fifth consecutive year and sixth overall with 52 winners, said, “We have a great team at home – great, dedicated employees who has been with me for a long time. All worked hard and it was well worth it. I have to thank all the teams.”
The all-weather winning horse is Intervention (Ire) (Swiss Spirit {GB}), from Appleby’s yard, with five wins. The race for the All-weather Champion Apprentices is tight, with Rooke winning over Oliver Stammers and Rhys Clutterbuck at the age of 18. Godolphin was crowned the All-weather Champion Owner for the eighth year in a row with 43 games. win.
