Alex Eala excited over prospects of making Australian Open main draw

MANILA, Philippines – Attending the Australian Open is nothing new for Alex Eala.
“Of course, I have fond memories of Melbourne and the Australian Open because this is where I won my first Junior Grand Slam title—in the women’s doubles with Indonesia’s Priska Nugroho last year. 2020,” the Filipino teen wrote in a blog post. The International Tennis Federation’s website was published on January 6.
“But coming here as a professional is not the same as coming here as a young player. I’m excited too, but this is a new journey for me. Unlike the juniors, I’m not one of the top seeded players anymore and if I’m going to be in the main draw, I’m going to have to fight.”
Eala is in Australia hoping to advance to the main draw of tennis’ first Grand Slam event, the Australian Open, and in her blog post she says she’s excited about the prospect. the scene to test yourself against the best tennis players in the world.

“There’s no doubt it’s going to be tough, but if I win three games and get tickets next week, being in the Australian Open main draw will mean a lot to me. me,” Eala wrote. “To get to that level means you’re among the best players in the world, and if you qualify, it means you really won that chance. From there, you can go up against anyone, maybe even number one in the world.”
Eala wrote about her desire to reap the fruits of her off-season work.
“I put a significant focus on fitness during this period and I did a lot of aerobic exercise, while towards the end we focused more on specific exercises, points and techniques. “I feel in good shape,” she said.
Although she will campaign as the underdog both in the qualifiers and if she makes it to the main qualifiers, Eala said she is ready.
“I played my first tournament of the season, at W60 Canberra, where I made it to the second round of qualifying. I expect the level to be high as we are heading towards the Australian Open and I feel like I played two good matches.”
