Alec Baldwin Rust set shooting: FBI report says actor did pull trigger of gun that killed cinematographer Halyna Hutchins | Ents & Arts News

An FBI report concluded that Alec Baldwin pulled the trigger that killed a cameraman on the set of Rust.

Baldwin accidentally shot Halyna Hutchins while they were filming the movie in October 2021 – but always insisted that he didn’t actually pull the trigger.

However, a recently completed forensic investigation by the FBI said the weapon in question could not be fired without pulling the trigger.

The report, seen by Sky News, says that with the hammer (the part of the gun that fires into the firing pin) in the quarter – and half-hose positions, the gun “cannot fire without pulling the trigger.”

“A review of existing law enforcement reports reveals no convincing evidence that firearms were intentionally loaded with live ammunition on set.

Baldwin believes the Colt .45, which he was given when he was preparing to shoot a scene on the Western set in New Mexico, was an unassembled “cold gun”.

In a television interview about the Rust shooting, Baldwin said that although he “will do his best to undo what happened,” he does not feel guilty about the deadly shooting. – saying that while “someone is responsible for what happened… I know it wasn’t me”.
