After Final Four run with Lyceum, Renzo Navarro to test luck in PBA Draft
MANILA, Philippines—Lyceum defender Renzo Navarro also took his hat off to next year’s Draft PBA.
Navarro is the latest NCAA player to express an intention to join the PBA after duos like James Kwekuteye and JB Bahio of San Beda, Shane Menina of Arellano and Itchie Altamirano of San Sebastian.
“For now, I’m going to rest because I’ve played two seasons in a year, it’s exhausting but of course next year I’ll sign up for the draft because that’s where we all want to be,” he said. He speaks in Filipino.
In his final season with the Pirates, Navarro led his team in assists averaging 4.8 a game.
Navarro was a key part of the Lyceum Finals. The Pirates finished the knockout round as third seed with a 12-6 record.
But minus playoff experience, the Lyceum was beaten by defending champion Letran in the NCAA Season 98 semifinals, 67-58, on Tuesday.
Navarro struggled in his final game for the Pirates, scoring just two points along with four assists.
