Adrien Broner On Hank Lundy: “He Knows What He’s Doing”

Via Knitting Ambrosio: Adrien ‘The Problem’ Broner says he wants to take out journeyman Hank Lundy early on February 25th so he can get his paycheck sooner and go home when the two meet in the main event on BLK Prime pay-per-view at Gateway Center Arena, in College Park, Georgia.

Broner is getting the most money from BLK Prime, who are paying him over a reported $10 million for three matches over a 12-month period. The magic question is whether Broner is expected to fight good opponents as part of his three-match deal.

39-year-old Lundy (31-12-1, 14 KOs) will replace Ivan Redkach, who is said to have pulled out due to advertising issues. Lundy is an equal competitor to Redkach, 36, so in terms of talent there is hardly any weakness.

Lundy has lost the last four matches and hasn’t won since 2020. Ten years ago, Lundy was a competitive contender for 135th, but he’s been on a serious decline since 2014, losing consistently. Since 2018, things have taken a turn for the worse for Lundy, as he lost six of the last eight.

As a result, he’s battling Broner, who can’t face anyone who’s incompetent right now as his career has sunk and is on the verge of bottoming out.

Broner 0-5 since 2017

Fortunately, Broner is in even worse condition, will 0-5 in his last five fights, if you consider his three controversial matches against Adrian Granados, Jessie Vargas and Jovanie Santiago as failures, they should be.

“I didn’t talk to Hank. He knows what is at stake. He knows what he’s into. I do not play,‘ Adrien Broner said to NEWS when asked if he has a message for his February 25 rival Hank Lundy.

“I don’t play with him. I like an early fight. That way, I can get out of the ring and get the check faster,” said Broner when he learned that Lundy was predicting that he would knock him out in four or five innings.

“You don’t get paid overtime. I didn’t try to throw any more punches.

“It will certainly feature stars. There will be a lot of people there. You know, Atlanta is like black Hollywood. There will be a lot of people there. It would be one hell of an event. You don’t want to miss this game,” Broner said of his fight with Lundy, 39.
