Actor Nora Fatehi Questioned In Rs 200 Crore Extortion Case Against Conman
New Delhi:
Bollywood actor Nora Fatehi was questioned by Delhi Police for about 4 hours on Friday in connection with a Rs 200 extortion case involving his captor Sukesh Chandrashekhar. Ms. Fatehi was questioned by the Economic Conduct Division of the Delhi Police.
The Executive Director had previously questioned Sukesh Chandasekhar and Ms. Fatehi together on suspicion of money laundering. This investigation is also part of the ED’s charge sheet in the trail of extortion.
When questioned by investigative authorities, Fatehi denied talking to the scammer before December 12, 2020 while Sukesh insisted he spoke to her two weeks earlier following an event.
In the luxury BMW allegedly given to her, Fatehi claims she said “ok” when Sukesh initially suggested the car, but later said she didn’t need it. “So I informed Bobby about this, Bobby talked to Sukesh about this. I told Bobby to get the car if he got the chance.” Bobby Khan is a family friend of Bollywood actor. The scammer also objected to this, saying he gave the car directly to Ms Fatehi and the family friend had nothing to do with it.
The investigative agency also asked if there was an exchange of expensive gifts such as luxury bags between them. Fatehi said it never happened, she claimed that she was publicly given a Gucci bag and an Iphone 12 at an event where she was the main guest.
However, Sukesh Chandrashekhar said that he gave four bags to the Bollywood actor – which she chose herself – along with some money. He claimed that these bags were picked up by Ms Fatehi’s staff at a shopping mall in Mumbai.
Sukesh Chandrashekhar is accused of extorting around Rs 215 crores from Aditi Singh and Shiosystem Singh, who used to promote pharmaceutical giant Ranbaxy.
A Delhi Court has brought Sukesh Chandrasekhar and his wife Leena Maria Paul to ED court 3 days for re-investigation regarding the Rs 200 extortion case. They were arrested under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) for running an extortion case from a Delhi prison.
Nora Fatehi previously said that Leena Maria Paul called her and put the phone on speaker, where Sukesh thanked her and said they were her fans. She then announced that they would give her a brand new BMW car as an expression of love and generosity.
Ms. Fatehi’s statements are recorded under section 50 of the Anti-Money Laundering Act, 2002 twice in 2021 when she said she had booked a room for a charity event and during the event she had was given a Gucci bag and an iPhone by Sukesh’s wife.
