Accenture to cut 19,000 jobs, trims forecasts



NEW DELHI: IT Service Company Accenture Plc on Thursday said it would cut about 19,000 jobs and lower its forecast for annual revenue and profit as Mass layoffs at leading technology companies continue around the world.
The company said more than half of the layoffs would affect employees at corporate functions that didn’t pay the bill, sending its stock up more than 4% before the bell rang.
The company forecasts current-quarter revenue between $16.1 billion and $16.7 billion. Analysts on average expect revenue of $16.64 billion, according to Refinitiv data.
The announcement was made just a few days later Amazon said it will lay off an additional 9,000 employees in the next few weeks, mainly at AWS, advertising and convulsion. The global e-commerce giant has laid off nearly 18,000 employees.

Facebook-parent Meta . Platform also said it had cut 10,000 jobs this year, following its first batch of layoffs in the fall, leaving more than 11,000 jobs removed.
